We are outraged that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v Casey – resulting in abortion being immediately banned or at risk in more than half of the states, and care only being truly accessible for very few. This decision abandoned nearly 50 years of precedent, and marks the first time in history that the Supreme Court has rescinded a constitutional right.

So many of our fundamental rights are now under attack. While this is a scary political moment, it is also catalyzing fierce and widespread resistance. This spring, we convened an intergenerational panel to share how activists are building towards liberation and justice today.

If you are wondering “what now?” and “what can I do?”, here are some suggested actions you can take:

• Continue to make your voice heard and demand protections for community safety, bodily autonomy, and expanded access to abortion everywhere.
• Share resources like AbortionFinder, a directory of trusted (and verified) providers and M+A Hotline, a confidential, private and secure phone and text line, with people in need of abortion care and support.
• Sign up as a volunteer driver for clinic appointments or provide other logistical support to help people access abortion - find out what groups exist in your community, or get support with building a new group through Apiary Practical Support.
• Learn how people can safely and effectively end a pregnancy with medication through the Abortion On Our Own Terms resource website.
• Donate to support independent abortion providers (through keepourclinics.org) and funds that cover the costs of abortions, out of state travel, child care, and more through the National Network of Abortion Funds.
• Fight abortion stigma by talking with people in your life about abortion using these Heart-to-Heart Abortion Conversation tools, with #WhateverTheReason, or with the social media #AbortionIsEssential photo filter.

This work will require persistent organizing for the long term. Please support movement building and leadership development work by organizations you know, trust, and support, such as Collective Power.
